Another Night with Bean

This blog is becoming very Bean-Centric. We're ok with it.

Before the Lark Street Book Shop closing party, Laura got turned into a billboard for Hector On Stilts.

And then Meg and Laura played some pretty songs, followed by Carl Smith.

It's a Hootenany!

Despite the rain, Friday night we had ourselves a hootenany! There was fire...
Guitars and mandolins...
And banjos and marshmellows...
And a swing...
And Nick.

Kittens!

Harith and Wendy got kittens. They let me play with them!

Everyone's your friend in New York City...

June 17, Melissa, Laura, Meg, Becca, Anne and Aracelis went to NYC for the Renegade Craft Fair.

Despite the rain and grey skies, we headed south early Saturday morning.

Meg, aka The Wild Mongoose, Laura, aka Bean Doggie, and Melissa, aka Red Clay, rode down in one car.

Becca, aka Silver Fox, spearheaded the second car, with Anne, aka Anita Bonita, and Aracelis, aka Dragonfly.

Anne knit on the train.

While we were in the fashion district, we had to take advantage of the fabric shops, and headed to Mood.

Melissa was very happy.

After lunch in Manhattan, we headed to Brooklyn, for the fair, where our friend Leah had the most amazing baby hats with octopuses! We bought t-shirts and yarns and pins and all sorts of earrings.

This is the view from the Crows Nest, where you can get 32 ounce Buds, served in Styrofoam.

Instead, we opted for Pete's Candy Store. Laura was sad, there was no candy. And Melissa ordered the worst drink ever.

We were fascinated by this car.

While waiting for a table at Sea Thai, we watched the boys next door play soccer. The US and Italy had tied.

Then the girls relaxed on a swing.

Tom and all the pretty ladies!

Look at the pretty Thai food!

Dragonfly and Silver Fox.

Red Clay and Bean Doggie.

The Megs.

Anne and Tom.

We caught the sunset while waiting to catch the train back home. A good time was had by all.

Art on Lark

Saturday was Albany's annual Art on Lark festival, where crafters, artists, musicians and magicians take over the sidewalks for the day. Laura Beane rocked the front of Ben N Jerry's solo, and then Joe joined her on banjo for for their rendition of Jenny Jenkins and the "Easy Chair Song."

A good time was had by all.

Sorry, we've been busy!

We haven't updated in a while, and we apologize. Joe started grad school. Melissa has been crafting up a storm. And, well, time gets away from us. But, we will post pictures from Art on Lark (Joe played the banjo with Laura!) and the Albany Pride Parade (always a colorful Sunday morning) later this week.
