Finally!

After all that, it's time to dig in!

Everyone looks at us patiently while we try to capture the moment... (though Joe and Melissa's dad are missing in the picture!)

We're happy it seems to have worked!

And now its time to dine!!!

Almost Time!!!

It's almost time for supper!

Fred is beautifully cooked. Joe is happy.

Melissa is finishing up the chard and onions...

Anne takes an artsy picture of Melissa's new cake stand (though she doesn't make cakes).

Joe brings out the mashed potatoes...

And the cut up turkey...

Melissa's new favorite recipe for sweet potato casserole! (It's not cheese, its coconut!)

Our veggie selections...

The two Joe Burkes make gravy from scratch (prompting Melissa to contimplate vegetarianism by next Thanksgiving!)

Thanksgiving Morning

Before the folks arrive...

Fred (yes, Melissa named him) went in the oven after being massaged in butter and herbs...

Stuffing was whipped up...

Caitlin worked on the important stuff...

And Joe says all is going according to schedule!

Thanksgiving Fun! (Preparation)

Since our loved ones got us such beautiful china, cookware and gadgets, we thought it would be lovely to host our first Thanksgivng! We invited the parents, Caitlin, Anne and Liam, and got cooking.

The Night Before

Joe decided our cranberry sauce was going to be homemade (I have no problem with the canned kind!)...

We got some cranberries, oranges and special British sugar Liz gave us...boiled it, simmered it...

And voila, we had beautiful, yummy, red, cranberry sauce!

So we went out to celebrate! Notice Joe's and Caitlin's hats match (Knitting pride!)

Now that we are married...

In our first three and a half months of marital bliss, we have...

Visited the Vermont State House in Montpellier (yes, that is a portrait of Howard Dean)...

Befriended a moose on the side of the highway...

Hiked Acadia National Park in the pouring rain...

Picked apples in Altamont...

And hosted Thanksgiving!

This blog will attempt to fill you (our cherished loved ones) in on what is going on in our new life on Hamilton Street (and beyond).
